Once upon a time, this spoon was used only on the wedding night, when the newly wed couple ate from the same bowl with the same spoon. On the spoon’s handle are sculpted two birds sitting back to back, with a heart (love) uniting them on top; the birds are killing a frog (evil). So the bride and groom, united by love, defeat all evil fighting together like two warriors, sitting back to back to foresee any incoming danger. Moral of the story is the couple must stay united and love each other for the rest of their lives just like they did on their wedding night.
As every single spoon is carved manually, the reality might slightly differ from the details you see in the picture. Also, the wood’s fiber makes each spoon truly unique. The spoon is not treated with any chemicals, it is just oiled with sunflower oil to preserve the wood’s elasticity and to add a beautiful natural shine; therefore, you can use it for cooking and serving.
Dimensions - length 32 cm; bowl width 6 cm.
