This clay bowl is modelled, painted, glazed by hand and burnt in Sitar’s family workshop in Baia Mare. It is signed by the pottery artist on the back; it also has two small holes that allow you to hang it on the wall.
Each bowl is completely hand made, so there are not two identical ones. Small differences can appear between the pictures presented and reality. The bowl can be used for serving food. It is also dishwasher and microwave safe. Nonetheless, our recommendation is to protect the bowl by washing it only by hand and by keeping it away from the harsh microwaves. This way you will extend its life and therefore enjoy its quality and beauty for many more years.

In Baia Mare, a city from the north-western part of Romania, Cornel Sitar has been creating pottery for the last fifty years. The ceramic modelled, painted, glazed and burnt in his family workshop fascinates the entire world and has won many prizes and distinctions. The vases are created by the Sitar potters using old techniques. The pottery is ornated with geometric patterns, floral and zoomorphic motifs and it is easily distinguishable due to its specific style and vibrant colors. Cornel Sitar is well known for trying to revive the almost lost art of Saschiz pottery, an old type of ceramics painted with blue cobalt that is available today only in museums and private collections.
