In 2002 Andrei Ursu, studying in Timișoara, a city in western Romania, decided to create mărțișoare. Mărțișoare or March amulets are small trinkets that are traditionally given as a gift on 1st of March in Romania to girls and women. They symbolise the beginning of spring and celebrate the feminine figures in our lives. And so Andrei’s project began more as a game between friends, but the positive feedback and support from their customers encouraged them to continue. Now the team has a vast portfolio of handmade objects and goes to many events and fairs throughout the country.
These magnets are hand painted with acrylics on ceramic plates and finished with eco varnish.
